Well 2010 is here and time to make your fishing plans for the up coming season.

We will be doing our spring trip out to the Fraser river in early May for Sturgeon so if you are interested please feel free to contact us to secure a spot. If you have never caught one of these incredible fish then make sure you give it a try. You will not forget the experience!!!!

Last season was one of our busiest and the way this season is shaping up that trend looks to continue for 2010. If you should have any dates in mind please feel free to contact us to book your trip.

We have been going hard on the water since the start of Sept. and the fishing has gone from slow to some great day’s of lots of walleye and some real nice pike. The walleye only keeps getting better and like this whole season late in starting but they are now moving into their winter holes and feeding heavy.

Several of our guests have had the thrill of hooking into big river pike this fall. Our group from Abalone Construction even landed not just one but 3 big pike in the same day. The largest being a 38 in and 17 in. around monster that we got to see take the hook in slow motion before it striped off line in rapid fashion.

We had a slower then usual number of fish caught in August but we still managed a few real nice fish. New fiserman Joe Watts caught a very nice sturgoen, what a way to start out as some people fish for years to catch one and he did it on his first time out. Mike Boutin finally hooked a large pike which have been a bit scarce this year, it sure made his day.

We continue to catch goldeye and walleye but look forward to it cooling down to get things back to normal. I have heard stories from folks I know all across Canada and the fishing season for all of them has been a bit difficult this year.

As we approach fall it is the busiest time of the year for us here at Get Hooked. We have many trips booked but would like to let everyone know what dates are still open.

They are- Sept. 4,5,6,8,10,11,17,18,21,22,24,25,28 and 29th. As for Oct. 1,2,5,13,14 and anything after the 16th. If you are interested please let us know soon as we sell out every fall.

Edmonton Oilers Zack Stortini and Kyle Brodziak  joined Get Hooked Fishing Adventures for a day of fishing fun. It was partially a part of a trip donated by Get Hooked to the Oilers gift basket program. It was the second highest fund raiser in the program.

Zack and Kyle were joined by Paul Onderwood and his family who bought the basket at an Oilers game for a day on the water with the hockey players.

The day was a bit cool out but heated up with the fishing action. Both Zack and Kyle were like little kids in a candy store when the fish started hitting. Zack was five walleye for five casts a few times and the smile on his face went from ear to ear. Kyle was at the head of his boat and consistently hitting fish.The Oilers even sent out a camera man to shoot some of the action and do a few interviews. Thanks to all the fish that cooperated while the filming was going on. 

In all the day went well and everyone had a full day of catching fish and enjoyed their gourmet lunch provided by Get Hooked.  I am sure that we will see more Oilers coming out to enjoy some great fishing action.

It is rare but the river has not flooded this year so far and may not, cross my fingers. Fishing has been good on both the river with walleye, goldeye and pike action being good to great and some nice fish being caught. The lake was slow due to the late spring but the walleye action has really picked up with a good average size being caught.

We have doubled our usual June bookings this year and continue to be booking out front right into Oct. of 2009. I would recommend that if you have a date in mind that you contact us sooner then later.

Well we are back from our first annual “Get Hooked On A Great River Adventure” in B.C.

Everyone had a real good time and caught sturgeon with the exception of one person. The water temperture was only 39 degrees so slowed the fishing way down. Our first day was a tough fish but we had a much better second day with all boats catching fish. The water actually warmed up to 45 degrees and seemed to get the fish biting better. We had lots of bites that is for sure and kept everyone on their toes.  We had a couple of lovely ladies also join us and they both caught their first sturgeon.

I would like to say thanks to everyone that went out with us and also to Dean and his team for making the trip even more memorable.

Spring is almost here and there are folks planning their trips for this summer. To ensure that you get the dates you want please contact me to sew up your dates.

Now it is time to get ready for our trip at the end of April for some exlosive sturgeon fishing action. My son and I tested the waters last spring and were rewarded with 36 sturgeon over the two days we were out there. Our arms felt it on the flight back home but the smiles on our faces told the whole story.

This year we have partnered with my good friend Dean Werk of Great River Fishing Adventures to host a group of fishermen from Alberta for two days of great sturgeon action. We have nine people heading out with us and we still have a few spots left if you want to join us. Everyone should experience the great white ghosts at least once in a lifetime.
