Slow Start Ends On A Positive Note

Well Oct. 30 was our last day on the water for the 2011 season and what a finish with 126 fish caught by two repeat guests and one of them catching a 9 1/2 pounder and a 10+ pounder.

We had a very scary start to our 2011 season with cold wet weather but ever since Aug. the weather could not have been better. We have set new records for attendence in both Sept. and Oct. this year and that is because of the great support from so many of our past guests and many new ones.

The 2011 season was full of new things for Get Hooked to offer. First off the addition of Lac Ste Anne to our lakes, targeting big pike on Lake Wabamun, the new upper stretch on the North Saskatchewan  river, Brian Lindsay joining our team of quality guides and Randy getting his certification as a Certified Freshwater Angling Guide. What a year!

This year was also one of some of the best fishing we have seen in years. Big pike in the summer from the lakes and this fall was incredible with walleye anywhere from 1 lb. to 10 1/2 lbs.. I can say that I have never seen so many big walleye caught as this year. The many smiles on people faces told the story over and over, we even played a few out with the number of fish caught.

This year also marked the first time we have ever caught a trout and then had two in total. We had more then a few guests catch multiple species with 5 being the most four time this year.
